Watch the video to the right!>

Tours of the Brushy Creek Aquamarine Mine are conducted as weather permits so please call our toll free number for more information.

These trips are available by reservation only...and they are popular, so PLEASE reserve as soon as possible. During peak holiday periods you should call or email us as far in advance as possible. The tours leave at 10 am and return around 2 pm. Cost is $70 per adult and $35 for kids under 12. Transportation, equipment, and a guide are provided.

The Brushy Creek Mine is Gem Mountain's primary source of aquamarine.

Operations at the mine include the use of pneumatic tools by our staff to break apart large pieces of rock in order to locate and mine the aquamarine. Once the gemstone is free of the rock, it can be collected, cleaned off, and sorted for size, shape, and color.

Beautiful hues of green and blue make aquamarine a popular gemstone for jewelry and other decorative uses.

Other local materials include Wiseman aquamarine, Crabtree emerald, as well as moonstones, garnet, citrine, ruby, amethyst, sapphire and others.

We are located right on Hwy 226 in Spruce Pine and we invite you to contact us for more information. We invite individuals, families, and groups of all sizes.

We invite you to browse our entire website for all of the fun activities that we offer...come join us in person or even purchase buckets of rich mine ore and more ONLINE.

We are open March 1st through December 31st, Closed Sundays. Memorial Day through Labor day 9-7, all other days 9-5.
